This class invites you to an active, energizing training for the whole body, mind and soul. Take some time aside and practice the entire class. On a physical level, after a thorough warm-up, we are focusing on a vigorous vinyasa style standing flow using all 6 directions of the spine in various asanas ending with a fantastic sequence of ‘wall exercises’ for our inner thighs (adductor group) as well as  several other hip stretches. Those stretches are highly effective and can be practiced stand-alone. 

 Explore following asana practices in this class (among others):

  • Warrior 1 and 3 variations
  • Downward facing dog
  • Anjaneyasana with deep hip flexor stretch 
  • Lizard pose
  • Cow face pose
  • Extended side angle pose
  • Triangle pose
  • Inner thigh (adductor group) and hip stretches on wall
  • Shavasana

 

On a mental level you will need to focus and stay present with each movement and give your best to not practice on ‘autopilot’, which means just because you have practiced an asana before, your mind thinks it doesn’t need to attend. Practicing on ‘autopilot’ hinders our progress greatly and doesn’t allow us to be present. So observe your mind!

On an emotional level, explore how these challenges make you feel and how you are approaching them. This is a marvelous exercise to find out about our own conscious and subconscious pattern or habits in our yoga practice.
